In Puglia small tomatoes are tied together with cotton thread and hung to dry under the Masseria’s arches in order to preserve them during the winter. Historically, the “Ramasole” were a symbol of social prestige and wealth: as a young women, the more you owned the better the dowry!
All our pieces are designed, shaped and hand-made locally by Borgo Egnazia’s Master Ceramist. Each one is entirely hand crafted, making it different from any other. Shape, colour and size may vary slightly.
