Camilla Vender Melpignano
Born in Milan but Pugliese in her soul, she is the “lady of the house” at Borgo
Egnazia, a symbol of Puglian hospitality throughout the world, a project that
was dreamed up and transformed into a reality together with her husband
Aldo Melpignano . Here, in between white stone walls and century old olive
groves, Camilla spends part of her time, dividing her life between Italy and
London, where she lives with Aldo and their two daughters.

The harmony of its colours and the perfect sequence of details that conquest
every guest is the result of Camilla’s work, as she has curated, with attention
and passion, the Borgo Egnazia project from its opening.

A gemmologist by profession and a curious traveller, Camilla chose Puglia as
her home: she couldn’t live without the unmistakable light that illuminates
and gives warmth to this part of Italy. Here, the profound love for this land
and for the Puglian people has been transformed into the desire to search out
and enhance the most authentic beauty, the hidden talents, the traditional arts
which still have so much to tell.

And so was born the much loved project of Bottega Egnazia, a small but
surprising world of discoveries, hidden in the alleys of the Borgo Bottega
Egnazia is a homage to art, local craftsmanship and not only it gives space to
clothing, accessories and objects created by the hands of expert craftsmen, all
unique pieces chosen from Camilla’s constant curiosity
