These beautiful boards are 100% made in Puglia by a very talented artisan who makes one of a kind boards that mimic the nature of the woodgrain.
All the olive wood comes from their properties' groves and is aged 5 to 10 years. The wood is finished with a food-safe mixture of local beeswax (from the farmer next the property) and vegetable oil (usually almond oil) that seals the wood for a water resistant finish. The black accents are made from burning with a torch, as an homage to japanese wood working.
We suggest hand-washing the boards with warm water and a non aggressive detergent and drying it soon after. Do not bleach or put in the dishwasher.
