Francesca and Anna Siciliano's ancient and precious art of weaving rush, handed down by generations....truly magical.
Rush grows wild in coastal areas of Puglia and all these incredible pieces are made following and respecting the long preparation and the ancient techniques - using only hands!
Rush weaving was done in small villages in the province of Lecce, mainly by women who sat on the floor and spent hours weaving rush wires and ash threads. Considered a "poor" art, it was soon abandoned but the Siciliano family continues working in the name of tradition giving new life to rush, making it noble and adaptable to everyday use.
This product has been entirely made in Puglia, Italy. All pieces are unique, one of a kind and will not be repeated. All the materials used are authentic
